Pavel and Maria shared with us with their impressions about first working day in Italian restaurant. This is not an easy job. You have to be very quick in the restaurant. This day they were making different starters, tried to make pizza themselves. Pizza is made in an traditional oven. Also it was surprising that Italians use a lot of salt for making dough for pizza.
Today we had a trip for all day. We have visited Perugia and Assisi. Perugia is famous for it’s festival of chocolate, which probably will go on the next week. People are coming from all over the world, to see this event. We visited different shops with chocolate. Incredible! Also there are free underground escalators, so you can get to any point of the town with out of using car. That is why air is very clear in the town. This is the fist town in Europe where this kind of transporting was invented. Also we visited showplaces of this. We visited cathedral, famous in Europe fountain with statues of famous professions around.
We had lunch at Patrice’s cousin. She is also a cook, but she is specialized in seafood.
After lunch we went to Assisi. This not a very big town. There we visited famous “Basilica of St. Francesco”. Assisi is famous for it’s baking. Tanya tasted “cannolo” with three kinds with different types of filling. Cannolo it is a typical Umbrian pastry used especially for breakfast.
When we came back to the farm we had about 10 minutes to change clothes. So than Pavel and Maria went to the restaurant. There we were making antipasto. We familiarized with some Italian starters and learnt the recipe of pizza’s dough. We saw how works Italian restaurant. All people were running. Also we saw new desserts for us. We saw burning desserts. It looked great. After work we finally tried Italian pizza. This was amazing, pizza was very tasty. There were two kinds of pizza, bianca and I don’t remember the name of it, but there was tomato sauce, cheese and something else. Alexandra said that probably it was margherita
On the dinner we had vegetable soup. We learned that it has to be thick. Maria and Tanya liked it very much, but Pavel with another Maria had no opportunity to taste it. But they had pizza :)
