This lovely little morning at breakfast we were all together: Masha B came also to eat with us probably she was hungry =) Quickly after we went to Spoleto. We had a free time today. We were very surprised to see so many students with their school bags in the street. They were speaking, having coffee before going to school. The school starts here a bit later than in Estonia. A lot of students come to the schools in Spoleto from the surrounding little towns so they come earlier and they have this habit of having breakfast together. Later that day Alexandra came to pick us up and we came back to the farm At lunch we learned to make pasta alla norcina. In order to make this sauce you need butter ( it is one of the very few sauces in Italian kitchen that needs butter) the meat from the natural traditional sausages and fresh cooking cream and of course parmesan. We had also a short instructional lesson on how to cut the prosciutto correctly, and it’s not an easy task. It must be cut by hand and very, very thinly. The pieces have to be almost transparent!!! We also had another type of pizza with rosemary. This kind of pizza is very salty but the taste was really special and I enjoyed it very much. It was especially well combined with prosciutto crudo.
After lunch we finished the last white grapes. There were some special varieties that were still very tasty. =) We had a chance to try the type of grapes called « uva fragola» which means stawberry- you can’t imagine how tasty it is, very sweet and full of perfume. It’s probably the tastiest kind of grape that we have ever eaten!!!
